Description

This Vibrating Atom Model Kit from Molymod allows construction of a model which visually demonstrates how the atoms making up a solid (e.g. a crystal) are held together by spring-like forces.

Once constructed, hold the model at arm's length and shake lightly, and pupils will see the individual atoms vibrate and move independently due to the springs holding them together. They will also notice that they remain in the same formation within the model, as they do in a solid.

Best used for demonstration purposes due to the ease with which the springs can be bent or misplaced.

Self Assembly Required.

Contents:

  • 9 White Ball Atoms
  • 54 Springs.

Dimensions when constructed : 185mm x 185mm x 185 mm, 3 x 3 x 3 lattice.
