The humble glue stick
One of the most common items found in every classroom and office is the much loved glue stick But how and when did the glue stick appear?
Fun fact: In the 1960's the inventor of the Pritt stick observed a woman sat on a plane applying lipstick and he had the brilliant idea to fill the twisty tube with glue instead. I wonder if he patented the idea? If he didn't then perhaps he lived to regret it!
The product was initially released under the Pritt brand and by 1971 was being sold in 38 countries, now it is sold worldwide
Henkel currently produce over 650,000 Pritt sticks every day which works out at about 130 million a year - That's a lot of glue
Roll forward 50+ years and there are now hundreds of variations of the initial branded Pritt stick (some better than others) but one thing that is for sure the glue stick is still as popular as ever and is here to stay
At HOS we work hard to ensure that we sell the best quality products and in our opinion if you are looking for a glue stick that is as close to the original Pritt stick without the price tag the Wizard glue stick is one of the best on the market and won't break the bank. Made with PVP (like the brand leaders) this product dries clear and can be used on paper, card, photos & some textiles
