
Philip Harris Food Calorimeter
Description
The food calorimeter has been designed to measure the energy content in foods and is an alternative piece of equipment to a boiling tube of water and a thermometer.
The combustion chamber is connected to a copper spiral heat transfer tube, which, when used, is connected to a filter pump to draw the products of combustion through the copper spiral. A wire stirrer passes through the cover, and a hole with a bored and split rubber stopper is provided to accommodate a thermometer. Please note this item does NOT include the Base Unit and is supplied WITHOUT a thermometer.
- Borosilicate water jacket, 205mm x 100mm diameter, surrounding an integral combustion chamber, open at the base.
