- Is buying the cheapest copier the best option?
This is the question we basically get asked the most! What is your cheapest copier paper?
There are a lot of white box economy photo copier papers on the market and in all honesty the majority of these papers will get the job done without the need to pay for a branded product. At Hetherington's we ensure that all the white box paper we purchase and supply is FSC certified (explanation below) and is of good quality and we can maintain supply from a reliable source
If you are purchasing copier paper for schools then our white box copier paper will get the job done time and time again
So if you want a sheet of copier paper without blowing your budget then white box A4 photo copier paper is the best place to start
- What does FSC certified mean?
FSC certified means that a product or forest is managed in a way that supports sustainability forestry and conservation
To be fair the majority of copier paper products are FSC certified and will have the FSC logo printed on the copier paper box
- What is the weight of standard copier paper?
Another question that we get asked a lot is the copier paper weight?
We stock a number of products and the copier paper gsm varies from product to product. Our standard A4 copier paper and A3 copier paper is 75gsm. For everyday use this paper will work perfectly well in most printers and photo copiers.
The next step up is 80gsm copier paper. If we go back a couple of decades the standard copier paper weight in the UK was 80gsm but to keep production costs down this has become 75gsm or sometimes even 70gsm in some cases
If you are looking to print on both sides of the copier paper then 80gsm is probably the sheet you need
From there on the weights keep on increasing - 90gsm, 100gsm etc etc.
It really is a case of selecting the correct product for you needs
Did you know? The standard weight of copier paper used in the USA is 60gsm - less production costs, less raw materials used = better for the environment

- How many reams of paper are there in a standard box?
A standard box of A4 copier paper and A3 copier paper has 5 reams of copier paper in the box. A ream of paper is 500 sheets, so a standard box of paper has 2500 sheets of paper in it. As we go up in weights the number of reams in a box can go down, just check before you purchase.
Oh and one other top tip when you are looking at prices of copier paper on the internet there are some suppliers selling a box of copier paper that only has 4 reams in it, may look cheaper than the rest but you are only getting 4 reams not 5

- Which copier paper should I buy?
My answer to this is firstly to decide what you need the copier or printer paper for. If you are volume printing for a school then a standard white box A4 or A3 copier paper will in most cases be the sheet for you. If you want a product that is slighlty heavier in weight, or is being printed on both sides then an 80gsm copier paper is the next step up
You may be looking to produce an important document for a presentation and want to create a professional looking end product then you may want to purchase a 90gsm or 100gsm sheet of paper
